WHAT SHOULD YOU DO FIRST?
First, give us a call or send us a note. We will meet with you to determine your concerns and questions, and to identify your needs and goals for the estate. We evaluate your home and property to determine the best method to present the event to the public. After meeting with you, we will formulate a plan that will effectively and efficiently assist us in generating a successful event for you!
WHAT SHOULD YOU DONATE OR THROW AWAY?
We always advise clients not to throw anything away or donate goods until we’ve had our initial meeting. Almost everything is worth something. The items you think won’t sell, do sell. "Trash" to someone is another man's treasure.
IS THERE A CONSULTATION CHARGE?
We are pleased to meet with you to discuss options and obtain a better assessment of the items up for sale. The initial consultation a “no cost/no obligation/no risk” evaluation of the items to be placed in the sale.
WHAT ARE THE FEES?
We work on a commission structure. Our fees generally include research, appraising, planning, pricing, organization, and full staffing of the sale. We advertise and market the event for a set fee discussed at the time of evaluation.
HOW DO WE PRICE ITEMS IN THE SALE?
With over 15 years of experience, our team members have comprehensive knowledge in many areas and specialties of antiques, collectibles, coin, military items, cars, fine art, decorative objects and contemporary and modern furnishings. We use our own industry experience, various research methods, our network of specialists and current online resources to provide accurate, fair market value on all antiques and higher level valuables.
HOW DO WE ATTRACT BUYERS TO THE SALE?
We advertise your sale on the Grandson's Estate Sales website, nation-wide estate sale listing websites, in local newspaper inserts, and with an e-mail announcement to our newsletter subscribers including our private list of dealers, collectors, regular shoppers, and decorators. These advertisements and marketing strategies are specifically designed to draw the highest number of potential buyers to your sale.
WHAT HAPPENS TO ITEMS AT THE END OF SALE?
At the end of the liquidation, we pack the remainder of unsold items for donation day. We use local non-profit organizations to setup appointments for you.. We recommend organizations that are reliable and insured for time sensitive projects
WHEN CAN YOU EXPECT PAYMENT?
We forward you a check for the net proceeds of the sale, less our commission, and any other contracted charges, within 10 business days after the conclusion of the sale.
